Pag-IBIG Fund to issue Transaction Card

CEBU CITY April 26 (PIA) --- The Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG Fund) Cebu South Branch announced that effective June 1, 2012, the Fund will issue to its members a transaction card for them to use when dealing with Pag-IBIG transaction.

The Transaction Card will be available to all members who already have the Pag-IBIG Employer’s ID No., Registration Tracking No. (RTN) and Pag-IBIG Membership Identification (MID) No.

In line with this, Pag-IBIG Fund Cebu South is requesting its members to provide a copy of their latest Member’s Contribution Remittance Form (MCRF) reflecting the Pag-IBIG Employer’s ID No., RTN, and MID numbers.

Employers and employees who do not have the RTN can register online via the Pag-IBIG Fund On-line Employer Registration System at www.pagibigfund.gov.ph.

The Fund is also seeking employer’s assistance in informing their employees to register through the On-line Membership Registration System specifically workers who do not have their Pag-IBIG MID/RTN.

Pag-IBIG Member Services Officer 1V and Public Information Officer Van Pepito urged members for their immediate registration because non-registration in the system may lead to delays in transactions with Pag-IBIG.

“Non registration may cause delays in transacting with us since our system will now be based on Pag-IBIG MID/RTN. Our online registration system is just an initial move because we aim to have our transactions from payments to remittance and processing of loans and other documents be based on our online system,” Pepito stressed.

He also added that it is necessary for members to indicate their Pag-IBIG Employer’s ID No./RTN and employees’ Pag-IBIG MID No./RTN in their Member’s Contribution Remittance Form (MCRF) in the process of remitting membership contribution and /or loan amortization to avoid inconvenience, fast track the processing of documents, and accurate posting of payments.

Pepito called on on employers to urge their newly-hired employees to register online with the Fund before initial remittance.

For any queries/clarification regarding this notice, members are asked to coordinate with Portia V. Bacalso, Joy G. Aligan, or Van R. Pepito of the Marketing and Enforcement Division at telephone nos. 415-5002 or 415-5003. (rmn/AS/PIA-CEBU)

Cebu town boosts skills training program

CEBU CITY April 27 (PIA) --- The town of Dalaguete in the southern part of Cebu is intensifying its Skills Training and Resource (STAR) program designed for the town's out-of-school youths and unemployed residents.

The municipal government recently established a three-storey building that will serve as the STAR center where trainings will be conducted for around 300 trainees every semester.

The center, located near the municipal hall, is expected to be functional before the year ends.

The STAR program of the town was established in 2002 with the concept of entertaining the skills needs of the out-of school youths, unemployed college graduates, college dropouts, and unemployed residents in the town and neighboring areas in the province.

However, there was no permanent venue to host the various training sessions.

Trainings were usually conducted at the public market, municipal hall, vacant public school rooms, and other vacant government structures.

Executive Director of STAR Dalaguete, Pat Gamboa, said the program still produced quality graduates who were immediately employed with the support of other government agencies, despite the lack of a permanent training center.

“We tapped other agencies to help our graduates acquire jobs. Our partner agencies are increasing every year because it is really proven that our graduates showed excellent performance in their field of work,” Gamboa said.

Gamboa is thankful that the municipal government has addressed their need for a training center.

“With the establishment of our STAR center, we can now cater to more enrollees,” Gamboa said.

STAR trainees undergo five months of training sessions before they can graduate.

Afterwards, they have to pass an assessment examination conducted by TESDA before they will be granted a certificate of completion.

Skills trainings offered under STAR are dressmaking, commercial cooking, electronic servicing, metal arts and welding, electrical installation and maintenance, automotive servicing, refrigeration and airconditioning, among others. (rmn/AS/PIA-CEBU)
