NNC-7 to showcase best practices on nutrition programs
during 2-day media tour in Bohol on Dec. 9-10

CEBU CITY, November 18 (PIA) – Best practices on nutrition-related programs will be showcased by the National Nutrition Council (NNC) 7 to members of the Cebu press during a two-day Learning Visit and Media Tour for Nutrition and Supplementary Feeding on December 9 and 10 in the Province of Bohol.
The NNC-7 organized the Media Information Network for Nutrition and Development (MIND) 7 to increase the advocacy reach of proper nutrition information dissemination to the target population and the public in general.
With the two-day learning visit and tour, NNC-7 said the public will also learn what government is doing to improve the nutritional status of the Filipinos especially those categorized as “malnourished.”
The objective of the activity is also for members of the media to have a greater understanding of the nutrition and related programs, projects and activities undertaken by the government to improve the nutrition, health and general well-being of the populace, this is said.
Bohol on the other hand, was chosen as the venue for the tour because it has been awarded as the Most Outstanding Province in Central Visayas in 2010 on Nutrition.
Itinerary of the media in Bohol included a visit to the breastfeeding station in a market place and inside a municipal hall; observe actual feeding and growth monitoring as well as interview implementers and beneficiaries; observe micronutrient supplementation to workers; and nutrition education. Understanding Choices Forum towards a ‘Sustainable Cebu’
to gather different sectors in Cebu

CEBU CITY November 18 (PIA) – Leaders form the business community, religious sector, academe, civil society groups and representatives from concerned government agencies and other stakeholders will gather for an ‘Understanding Choices’ Forum on “Prosperity and Planet: Engaging Business as Stewards towards Sustainable Cebu” on November 22.
Sponsored by The Eduardo Aboitiz Development Studies Center (EADSC) of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc, (RAFI) in partnership with Kaabag sa Sugbo and the Cebu City Government, the forum is open to the public with the venue at the Bryant George Hall of the Eduardo Aboitiz Development Studies Center in Cebu City scheduled at 1:30 p.m.
In light of the threat of climate change and the importance of all sectors to participate in environmental protection and conservation, the forum will present a sustainability framework and will discuss the role of business in ensuring sustainable development beyond local economic growth.
